Yes I know, another Spider-Man movie?! I have seen the original Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire quite a few times, as my brother went though a big Spider-Man phase at that time. So, by the time The Amazing Spider-Man movies came out with Andrew Garfield, and then most recently Spider-Man: Homecoming with Tom Holland, I had already been burnt out on this superhero (although I still do want to see Spider-Man: Homecoming because that Tom Holland is such a cutie). When I originally saw the trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, I actually had not planned to see it. Except that everyone on Twitter, or at least the people I follow, told me I must see it. To go even further, everyone said they were planning on seeing it multiple times. Although I am a movie lover, I rarely see movies twice in theaters, and yet I am planning to see it again this weekend. That is truly the only endorsement you need.
Although, if you need a second endorsement, it is funny, has a great cast with wonderful voice acting, is intense and heartfelt even as an animated film, has such beautiful animation throughout, is innovative, and has so many other wonderful details that are hard to explain unless you go see it. I did not think I needed to actually tell people about seeing it because it seemed like everyone had heard how great it was, but when it won best animated film at the Golden Globes a few of my friends had not even heard of the title before. Either I need new friends, or I needed to write about how amazing it is. I choose the second option.
