Since I was young, my family has always used Southwest Airlines whenever we could. Now recently, I have started to branch out and try other airlines, but I have flown Southwest more than any other airline.
Things to Know About Southwest Airlines:
- From my experiences, I have found that Southwest’s prices are usually in the middle to low range. They are not the cheapest airline but thy have never been even close to the most expensive airline
- It is more of a domestic airline than an international one. They do have flights that go internationally(such as Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America), but they focus mostly in the United States.
- Southwest does not have a first class section and there are not any assigned seats. This means the check in process is important if you are particular about whether you are sitting in the aisle seat or by the window. This is my least favorite part about Southwest as you have to check in 24 hours before your flight leaves and the spots in line are assigned based on the order of the check in process. There is an option to check in early if you pay about $12 and add EarlyBird Check-In to your ticket.
- My favorite part about flying Southwest is that the first two checked bags are free.
